Countdown filter

The countdown shortcode has the setting to only show specific events. It would be nice to add a general filter to e.g. show only active events and ignore cancelled events.

I have a similar request. I admin a website for a social club where we have special events, and re-occurring events. I would like to be able to filter the “Countdown shortcode” by event category, that way I could show the next “special event” without showing the next re-occurring events.
