Relative URLs for “Event Links” NEEDED so we can use MEC inside Development site before pushing live.

1

Currently in MEC, when you are building a custom Event page for a calendar event, the full URL needs to be added into the “Event URL” field under the Links section. This poses a major problem for companies like ours that are building a new website on a custom subdomain and will continue to use a development subdomain to upgrade the site in the future.

Since we are a concert event venue, we cannot just edit the live site. We need a development location that allows us to build new events and get them approved by the band management BEFORE the development site is synced live to WWW. For that reason, we NEED the urls in the Event Links to be relative and not absolute!

This way we can link to relative pages like:
/dejoria-center/upcoming-events/eli-young-band/

NOT:
https://new.highstarranch.com/dejoria-center/upcoming-events/eli-young-band/

The full URL will need to be edited one by one back to www. once the site is pushed live. Then, every time we sync the site live in the future we will have to go through custom events and change the new. to www. We have to use the development subdomain right now in the URLs because the click flow has to be tested and approved by management. We cannot just use the www. inside the development website programming.

Please get this working ASAP. We are not the only company that uses development sites and without Relative URLs the MEC Event Links do not work properly.
